We had a few interesting questions pop up this week…
How do I know there is a demand for my product? I mean, I think it’s great, but I’d rather not wait 6 months to find out that nobody else does!
You’re right not to invest time and money into something until you’re pretty sure it’ll work, but it’s also important to realize that you can never be certain. It’s a risk, and some of the best things you achieve in this life usually start off that way. That said, it’s best to start off close to home with your family and friends and even friends of friend. This way you have proof of demand (hopefully!) before you’ve made a proper investment. Other ways to test it out are online surveys to see firstly if your product has legs and secondly, how you could make it better before launching.
How do I get people to my site?
You have to help them to find it. Don’t just assume they will – the web is a big place with a lot of people competing for clicks. You need a plan in place to get direct traffic to your site via SEO, which you can begin yourself and then enlist the assistance of an agency if you find you need help.
Do I need to use Pay per click Marketing?
No. Many businesses simply use SEO to improve their organic search ranking and decide not to spend anything on PPC at all. It all depends on the amount of time you have to invest in this as improving your organic ranking can take time, whereas PPC is a fast track.
Why do I need a blog?
If you don’t have a blog you are making your SEO work much harder than it needs to be. Sharing relevant keyword content increases exposure and clicks back to your site, which all moves you quickly up the Google ranks. Blogging will help you to build a community around your brand which will in turn lead to loyal customers and advocates. In fact, 82% of marketers who blog have reported a positive ROI from their inbound marketing efforts.
