BlueSnap, the Massachussets based eCommerce merchant giant, today announced a new business deal with First Data. The partnership aims to give secure cross-border payment capabilities to BlueSnap’s eCommerce merchants.
‘BlueSnap has reinvented and optimized the checkout experience by combining intelligent payment routing, frictionless one click checkout, cross-border payments, award-winning Smart Subscriptions, multiple integration options and dynamic ecommerce tools into a single international gateway. Combining the power of First Data with BlueSnap’s state of the art ecommerce payment gateway provides merchants with the global reach to grow their business and helps BlueSnap achieve their strategy of making every payment successful’, BlueSnap announced in a press release this morning.
BlueSnap has had $50 million of new funding under its belt for the last few months and hasn’t been shy in spending it. From Day 1, their key objective has to make cross border payment processing a less painful experience for merchants across the globe and they’ve been extraordinarily successful over the last few years with offices all over the US, Europe and in Israel. Their new partner, First Data, has 24,000 operations in 35 countries and they provide payment services and packages to more than 5 million businesses and institutions globally, ranging from small businesses to large corporations. Merchants in almost 70 different countries use First Data to securely process more than 1,500 financial transactions every second, or nearly $1.8 trillion transactions a year, according to data from the company.
‘BlueSnap’s merchants can now leverage the power of First Data’s global processing capabilities when offering our localized shopper experience’ said Ralph Dangelmaier, BlueSnap’s CEO, in a company press release. ‘Selling globally has never been easier.’
This deal is expected to substantially increase BlueSnap’s growing influence in the world of ecommerce, and I’m sure we can expect great things from this partnership over the coming months.
