In the midst of the biggest eCommerce weekend of the year, Twitter has unveiled a new feature called ‘Twitter Offers’. This follows the launch of the ‘Buy Now’ button a few months ago, which enables merchants to sell directly on Twitter via a tweet. In a blog post yesterday, Twitter explained that it aims to test and explore ‘how advertisers connect with consumers on Twitter and convert them to loyal customers.’
The new Twitter Offers can be used in store, on the web or via a mobile device, as the offer is attached to the customers credit card once it’s registered. This function will give customers much more freedom in terms of where and when they redeem their voucher, and will also provide merchants with a much more accurate means of measuring the success of both their online and offline activity.
Twitter has begun testing with ‘a handful of brands’ at present, but we think that a worldwide roll out is definitely on the cards for this one!
